Common Mistakes When Installing Metal Sheet Waterstops
Primostar® Metal Sheet Waterstop installation tips

A metal sheet waterstop doesn't perform as intended simply because it is embedded in concrete. Its waterproofing performance also depends on the quality of the installation.

Three common mistakes on construction sites:

❌ Overlaps are too long
Excessively long overlaps make installation more difficult and increase the risk of leakage.

❌ Overlaps are left unsecured
Unsecured overlaps can shift during concrete placement, increasing the risk of leaks.

❌ The metal sheet waterstop is installed at the wrong depth
If installed too deep or too close to the concrete surface, the waterstop cannot perform its intended function.

A watertight joint depends not only on the product but also on correct installation.

Next time, remember:

🍃 Keep overlap lengths between 7 – 10 cm.
🍃 Secure each overlap with 2 – 4 clips.
🍃 Ensure the metal sheet waterstop is embedded at least 3 cm into the concrete.
